Fashion Angel launched during Global Entrepreneurship Week

Fashion Angel, has launched during Global Entrepreneurship Week 2011. The brainchild of Alison Lewy, Fashion Angel will be home of mentoring, networking and business funding for both new and established fashion industry entrepreneurs.
The concept sprang from Alison’s time as Commercial Director of the Fashion and Textile Museum where she encountered a constant demand for business support from emerging and established fashion industry entrepreneurs.
These were people who needed specialist mentoring, networking and industry expertise, as well as access to funding. Alison is acutely aware that the reduction in public funding for the creative industries and in particular the fashion sector, has left many in the industry unsupported hence the discussion to fill that gap by setting up Fashion Angel.
Fashion Angel will offer support in all aspects of a fashion related business whether it’s strategic, operational, specific issues or preparing a business for investment. Working with a collective of industry mentors, Fashion Angel can help anyone with a new label, innovative idea, product or service in the fashion, textile, jewellery and home wares sectors.
It will also provide the crucial link between angel investors that are committed to supporting the industry and viable businesses looking for external funding to grow.
The Fashion Angel Business Club, a networking community for creative businesses, will offer events and workshops featuring speakers on topics of interest, and enable like-minded businesses to network in a relaxed atmosphere.
