Paris, May 2014, Thomas Tait have been chosen by the jury of LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers as a winner of the very first 2014 edition.
The Jury of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers are; Nicolas Ghesquière (from Louis Vuitton), Marc Jacobs, Karl Lagerfeld, Humberto Leon (from Kenzo), Phoebe Philo (from Céline), Raf Simons (from Dior), Riccardo Tisci (from Givenchy), Delphine Arnault (Executive Vice President of Louis Vuitton), Jean Paul Claverie (Advisor to Bernard Arnault), and Pierre Yves Roussel (Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the LVMH Fashion Division).
Due to the competition’s extraordinarily high level, the Jury have decided to give the award for two special prizes. The first to Miuniku, and the second to Hood by Air. They each won 100,000 euro and a year of mentorship.
Three fashion design school graduates have also been awarded with a prize. They each won 10,000 euro and will each be joining a different LVMH fashion house for one year job contract. Peter Do from fashion institute of technology, New York, at Céline. Flavien Juan Nunez from La Cambre Bruxelles and the Institut Français de la Mode, Paris, at Christian Dior. Teruhiro Hasagawa from Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London, at Givenchy. And the school they graduated from will also receive 10,000 euro to symbolize LVMH’s support to the education.
