Belstaff’s collection for Autumn Winter 2015 is all about great adventures. Inspired by legendary aviatrixes Amelia Earhart and Amy Johnson, the collection mixes influences and plays with oppositions, whether it be masculine/feminine, oversize/mini, savage/sensual or casual versus luxury.
Beautiful, natural fibres such as woven wool bouclé and a favourite of mine, shearling – could die for it – are associated with the brand’s weather proof fabrics, nylon and wax cotton, as well as more fluid and lighter textures to create ease of movement. The palette is exploring natural tones, mostly beige, cream, white and black shades, with touches of pale blue, perhaps to remind us that sky is the limit!
« Adventure is worthwhile in itself » said Amelia Earheart. Belstaff seems to be ready to help women taking off with no limitations whatsoever – and in fabulous style, of course.
