Scottish cashmere brand Johnstons of Elgin presented their Autumn Winter 2019 collection at One Marylebone for London Fashion Week.
Founded in 1797 by Alexander Johnston, the brand has since become a leader in the wool industry. Whilst it remains a family-run business, still driven by tradition, Jonhstons of Elgin has brought in great technology in woven and knitwear pieces, including lightweight products that were showcased during the first Spring Summer collection for the brand, in last September, as well as 360° digital printing technology.
The new collection’s inspiration is Art Deco, featuring beautiful geometrical patterns and a rich colour palette, with jewel-inspired tones and touches of gold. Some looks even send us directly to the golden age of the French Riviera – in winter. Flashes of tartan here and there remind of the brand’s Scottish heritage.
