Jasper Conran’s silhouette for Autumn Winter 2019 is no fuss, borderline monastic, with floor length garments and – as always – an ascetic approach to shapes. The outfits, many of them straight dresses, also combine long, straight skirts with simple tunics or blouses.
Beyond the apparent simplicity, it’s a tale about construction, geometry, absolute perfection of the patterns and cut. The designer also plays with layering and contrast, using ultra matte and low sheen materials.
The use of luxurious fabrics and the rich palette of olive, ebony, walnut, rust, clay, with flashes of vivid red give the collection a feel of timeless elegance.
