Ground Zero Autumn/Winter 2013/2014
Geometric prints were the go-to look for Ground Zero womenswear collection.
Reminiscing of Nicholas Ghesquière late creations for Balenciaga with the use of voluminous fabrics and a very technologic-centered inspiration, this collection reminds us of the emergence of the research on prints (Mary Katrantzou, Givenchy, Clover Canyon…).
The Ground Zero duo adds ruffles in unexpected places on clothing and goes beyond the peplum skirt trend. Ruffles are found on the sleeves and the skirts and give a dramatic touch to overall technical ensembles.
Blue, white, red and black are the only colors used this season. The shapes of the bodies are structured into very futuristic, almost bionic, silhouettes.
This collection is a capsule of all the big trends we may have witnessed the last seasons, and as such, offers some fabric-mixes (woolen sweater/synthetic fabric) and quilted leather pieces that all are big hits from previous collections.
