Paris, Milano, London, what else? Well, the Metropolitan Fashion Week of course! The Metropolitan Fashion Week is one of the fastest growing fashion weeks in the United States, with shows in Seattle, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Palm Springs and soon, New York. Featuring both Fashion Designers and Costume Designers, from around the world, on one runway, the Metropolitan is the only fashion week in the world that welcomes those two activities. This interesting gathering, has made a global impact on the fashion scene by presenting events held in dramatic, non-traditional venues that showcase not only fashion designers and costume designs, but also the most beautiful venues each city has to offer. Celebrating the world of fashion and costume designers in the categories of Avant Garde and Couture Gowns, MFW spotlights over 150 works of art created by international fashion and costume designers and are original « one-of-a-kind » creations.
This year the Metropolitan Fashion Week will take place from September 22nd to October 1st, 2016. As usual it will start with an Inaugural Awards Show, then a Charity Fashion Show, and specially this year, exclusive Vegas Performances. Hollywood is now getting ready for the most fashionable week of the year, with the partnership of Warner Bros. Studios to kick off its fourth annual festivities. Following a series of couture and costumes presentations, a benefit show supporting Autism Speaks and its first ever fashion awards. Held at Warner Bros. Studios and various locations throughout Los Angeles, MFW will be hosted and produced by Eduardo Khawam, fashion expert, producer and TV personality for Telemundo and Univision.
Guests are invited The Opening Ceremony and Costume Contest will at The Original Farmers Market Los Angeles, on Thursday, September 2016. A great way to start this special Fashion Week, with the designers who will showcase costume and fashion creations inspired by The Original Farmers Market and uniquely made of candy! The audience will then have the chance to vote for their favorite design. The top three winners will have the opportunity to participate in the Closing Gala Fashion Show.
The Metropolitan Fashion Week is also shaking up the Fashion week « codes » by producing La Vie en Blue, a Parisian-style benefit fashion gala to support the Southern California chapter on Autism Speaks, on Thurdsay, September 29th. Hosted at Warner Bros. Studios, the haute-couture fashion and costume extravaganza promises to be a spectacular evening of philanthrophy. The event will feature a fundraising and autism awareness, moreover it will include a runway show, auction and live performances.
The final event, will be the Closing Gala and Fashion Awards, and will take place Saturday, October 1 at Warner Bros. Studios. The Closing will recognize outstanding contributions in costume design, celebrity styling and more. The Metropolitan Fashion Excellence Award categories include Costume Designer of the Year (Motion Pictures), Costume Designer of the Year (TV), Costume Designer of the Year (Live Performance), Celebrity Stylist of the Year, Fashion Program of the Year, Fashion Commentator of the Year, Fashion Blogger of the Year, Outstanding Ensemble for Make-Up Artist Artist and Hair Stylist and Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition to the Awards, the evening will include exclusive performances from one of Las Vegas top shows and an extraodinary fashion show featuring haute couture gowns and costumes.
