London Fashion Week – Pam Hogg AW12

Iconic designer Pam Hogg certainly didn’t disappoint her loyal customers this season. Entitled ‘Wild Life’, Pam’s Autumn Winter 2012 collection took us on a quite exciting trip to a futuristic farm.

Skin-tight bodysuits in metallic colours such as gold, silver, copper or red, black, grey and white, with geometrical patterns lead the show. Some bodysuits actually consisted mostly of sheer mesh with smaller and smaller patterns or ribbons to cover the models’, err, modesty – until it came to the point of just a tiny piece of PVC as a kind of pubic sticker.

As a counterpart to bodysuits, there were also lots of dresses flaring out in the most dramatic way over layers of netting.

All outfits were teamed with matching high platform shoes. However, the key piece, seen throughout the whole collection, was emphasized futuristic far west farmer bonnets tied around the models’ neck, a bit like The Little House in the Prairie Meets Star Trek. Stunning. With drawn unibrows and painted dots under the eyes of each models, it really contributed to create this weird yet very attractive style.

The front row included long term customers and fans, Jo Wood, Nick Rhodes, Janice Dickinson, but also new ones such as Alexandra Burke or Kate Nash. Jaime winstone and Mary Charteris made a few appearences on the catwalk, generating applause from the crowd – although not as loud and cheerful as when the designer came salute at the end of this highly entertaining show.
