Rebecca Taylor plus élégant Automne/Hiver 2012

Girl with the dragon tattoo inspired? Not quite, but close. Rebecca Taylor’s Fall/Winter 2012 Collection surprised the crowd at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week. Gone are the florals and vivid colours. Black, grey, plum – Taylor shares the same dark colour palette as the European FW12 menswear collections. The edgier looks may reflect a change in demographic but it’s more likely that the hardcore Rebecca Taylor fans such as Olivia Palermo, Zoe Kravitz, and Louise Roe could use some edgier options from the label.
The styling was excellent mixing feminine with masculine, hard with soft, and knits with chiffons. Favourites include the quilted carbon leather jackets, onyx reptile jacquard trousers, sequinned print dresses, a herringbone coat, ombre leopard coat, and those incredible furry boots.
