Quai Branly: visit in pictures of the exhibition Ultimate Combat, martial arts of Asia to discover until January 16, 2022

ULTIMATE FIGHT MARTIAL ARTS OF ASIA
Temporary exhibition / Garden gallery
Until January 16, 2022

Shaolin monks, samurais, futuristic robots: the representations of Asian martial arts are rooted in the collective imagination. Beyond the warlike function, martial arts fascinate by their techniques, their spirituality and their stories tinged with legend and fiction.
The exhibition Ultimate Combat. Martial Arts of Asia explores the mythology, history, practice and representation of Asian martial arts disciplines from classical arts to pop culture. With more than 300 ancient and contemporary works, the exhibition is divided into three chapters exploring in turn the iconography of combat in Indian, Chinese and Japanese cultures, and gives a central place to cinema.
