The Fall/Winter 2011-2012 collection takes us on an emotional journey thru Virtualand, a familiar place in our dreams and on our computer screens. Here Faux Reality reins and transports us in a cinematic domain where 70’s excess glam divas morph into virtual modern heroines.
Giant prints of flora, reptile and abstract grid patterns look HyperReal on modern black silk shift dresses while graphic bold stripes enhance the 3D effect of minimalist coats, knit blazers, and tube dresses. Bands of black suede enhance the contours of deconstructed tweed jackets, skirts and day dresses for a Faux bondage, multidimensional effect while creating the illusion of digital grids.
Taking queue from the color effect of the prints, a palette of virtual reds, cognac, caramel, ultraviolet, and lacquer yellow create striking accents when striped shoes, color blocked minimal bags, and knit and chiffon layering pieces animate a mostly black look.
Plays on transparency, textural mixes, color blocking, and fabric patchworks create the illusion of Photoshop layers in a digitally enhanced universe while perforated leather and high tech bonded fabrics add an unexpected Now dimension to classic t-shirt shapes, wrap skirts, and dresses.
Faux fur patchworked vests and coats are layered over cocktail dresses with signature luxe textural
embroideries- this time creating the illusion of reptile skins, light grids, bondage cages, or layered feathers.
