<\/a><\/a>\"\"<\/a>The first\u00a0word that comes to mind about Vivienne Westwood Red Label Spring\/Summer 2011 collection is diversity. As eclectic as was the packed crowd at\u00a0Grand Connaught Rooms, including Pamela Anderson, Cat Deeley, Matt Smith supporting girlfriend Daisy Lowe on the catwalk, the collection offered a savant mix of prints and patterns, of genres and fabrics. As always with Vivienne Westwood, what could have been a total mess\u00a0turned\u00a0into something\u00a0amazingly elegant and uniquely distinguished.<\/p>\n

The show started with some pretty austere\u00a0– at least compared to what we\u00a0got used to –\u00a0outfits in harmonies of navy, black, white and grey\u00a0shades, with carrot trousers and waisted jackets, as well as the traditional tartans in grey and pink hues.\u00a0As many collections this season,\u00a0some\u00a0garments were more Autumn\/Winter like than summery. Brown,\u00a0old rose\u00a0and navy blue on heavy fabrics like tweed, wool\u00a0and\u00a0jacquard\u00a0and covering shapes. Then progressively, spring then summer arrived, carrying with them all sort of prints, large stripes, floral, gingham, tribal, glittery camouflage, leopard,\u00a0sometimes alone, other times teamed together, like the sumptuous cropped jacket and shorts combo in jacquard and striped cotton.<\/p>\n

The flamboyant designer also offered outstanding evening wear with sequined garments, such as\u00a0glitter\u00a0cropped trousers and a jaw-dropping sequin pencil dress worn by model Jacquetta Wheeler.<\/p>\n

Vivienne Westwood\u00a0triumphantly walked the catwalk surrounded\u00a0by her models\u00a0for the finale, luminous and singing to the tunes “You’ll Never Walk Alone”. Fabulous, as always…<\/p>\n

The show was also the opportunity for Vivienne Westwood to\u00a0put under the spotlight\u00a0Reprieve, a charity that provides frontline investigation and legal representation to prisoners held outside the rule of law in secret prisons, or in death rows around the world.<\/p>\n
