{"id":1628354,"date":"2023-03-18T09:10:00","date_gmt":"2023-03-18T08:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.luxsure.fr\/2023\/03\/18\/discovery-of-ruinart-bottles-from-1926-in-paul-bocuses-cellars\/"},"modified":"2023-05-26T10:38:25","modified_gmt":"2023-05-26T08:38:25","slug":"discovery-of-ruinart-bottles-from-1926-in-paul-bocuses-cellars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/luxsure.com\/blog\/2023\/03\/18\/discovery-of-ruinart-bottles-from-1926-in-paul-bocuses-cellars\/","title":{"rendered":"Discovery of Ruinart bottles from 1926 in Paul Bocuse&#8217;s cellars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>DISCOVERY OF <strong>RUINART 1926<\/strong> BOTTLES IN THE CELLARS OF <strong>PAUL BOCUSE <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The discovery of an <strong>old vintage<\/strong> always brings <strong>a strong emotion<\/strong> that goes beyond the simple oenological point of view.<\/p>\n\n<p>It was during a thorough cleaning of <strong>the cellars of the emblematic starred restaurant Paul Bocuse<\/strong>, in Lyon, that <strong>Maxime Valery<\/strong>, the new Head Sommelier, discovered 18 bottles of Ruinart champagne <strong>from 1926<\/strong>, scattered in various racks.<\/p>\n<p>Dusty but in <strong>excellent condition<\/strong>, most of them were given to Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Pana\u00efotis, Cellar Master of the Ruinart House, to join the wine library of the oldest Champagne House.<\/p>\n<p>Silent and priceless witnesses of an era and of the <strong>link<\/strong> between a <strong>three-star chef, a mythical table and a great wine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8221; <em>As soon as I heard about these bottles, I went there to see them <\/em>.<br \/>\n<em>It is a rarity because following the Second World War, there were only 10 000<\/em><br \/>\n<em>bottles in our cellars and no more archives.<\/em> &#8211; <strong>Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Pana\u00efotis<\/strong>, Cellar Master, Ruinart &#8221; <em>In 1926, the temperature was supposed to give a good wine. August was beautiful but the flowering was late: the grapes matured under the October sun. All the possible diseases the vine had them: but the harvest was beautiful given the drought.<\/em> The &#8220;Ruinart&#8221; label is an extract from the Ruinart Archives&#8217; cellar notebooks. During the tasting of this vintage, <strong>Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Pana\u00efotis<\/strong>, Cellar Master of the Ruinart House, said: &#8220;<em><strong>Full-bodied<\/strong> wine, with <strong>heat<\/strong>. Must make a perfect English wine. The wine has not been altered too much by oxygen over time. It still retains aromas <strong>of ripe fruit<\/strong>, <strong>apricot, candied lemons and candied oranges<\/strong>.
