According to Vivetta, founder and Creative Director, “With the Resort 2022 Collection I wanted to celebrate the happiness of reopening to life, after months of restrictions and closings, conveying the joy of a newly found freedom. Letting my imagination run free, I have mixed references and images in a festive and unexpected way. I have included a surprise, an unusual and poetic detail in each and every piece as small gift to the wearer.”

The romantic inspiration from Jane Austen’s characters or from the elegance of Victorian heroines blends with 1960s Op Art and 1990s post-vintage Modernism references. Kinetic effects distort flower motifs; two-color fading hues recall Yayoi Kusama’s psychedelic graphicsvirtually transforming them into Japanese manga; tie-dye pattern, as metropolitan graffiti, gather 3D textures of macro-Vichy printed on cotton voile. Traditional shirt stripes are reinterpreted through a retro-tapestry inspiration, to which thin wavy embroideries add fluidity and illusory effects. Marbré denim; ethereal marabou recalling seductive vintage negligee.

“Trompe l’oeil, optical illusions, perspective distortions. I indulged in free and creative play in which sense of restraint is joyfully distended. Asymmetrical ruffles; detachable capes replace collars on sundresses; sweaters with ethereal floating feathers; overlapping contrasting details; embroideries chase each other on romantic dresses transforming into rich 3D motifs. All is assembled and filtered through the prism of my surrealistic and poetic imagination.”

Silhouettes show contrasting features, 1970s tapered lines with Empire bustiers alternate with poufy balloon shapes and light and airy volumes.

“In a game of with stylizes distortions, the same decorative elements are applied to the accessories. Large fading daisies follow one another in brightly lacquered plexiglas necklaces, bracelets and brooches; marabou lays on sandals, slippers and lovely headbands with gentle femininity. Lightness, femininity, dream and play. This is my message for a new season of free and festive creativity.”
