\nSo the problem with hosting a\u00a0Thomas Sabo<\/a> Fall\/Winter 2011 Launch at a place like\u00a0Lee Lounge<\/a>,\u00a0is that you have one of the world’s greatest chefs on hand whipping up the most savoury hors d’oeuvres. \u00a0A little hard to concentrate on the jewellery when they are serving up Susur Lee’s\u00a0delicious Char Sui Peking duck rolls,\u00a0beef carpaccio on garlic potato chips, and blue cheese mousse filled cones topped with apples, beets, and spiced nuts. \u00a0If Chef Lee’s Asian delights distracted me, then\u00a0CTVs<\/a> Tanya Kim<\/a> and the rest of the gorgeous women on hand completely disoriented me. \u00a0For a little while at least.
\nFor FW11 Thomas Sabo’s Asian-inspired jewellery collection unites the symbol-rich world of the Far East with the cutting-edge fashion trends from the international catwalks. \u00a0Think\u00a0Ermenegildo Zegna Men’s Fall\/Winter 2011<\/a> or Ralph Lauren’s Women’s Fall\/Winter 2011 and you’ll find this elegant, mystical black, sensual purple, and deep ruby-red jewellery collection fits right in. \u00a0The dramatic key colours of the collection are also reflected in the setting, which whisks us off into the electrifying nightlife of an Asian megacity. Here, the magic of an exotic world merges with the flair of luxurious hotel suites, the spiritual calm of a Buddhist temple with the power Pop of the 1980s and the grand noblesse oblige of Imperial Germany with the coquettish charm of the 1930s.
