Bryce Aime S/S 2011 – London Fashion Week
French-born Bryce Aime presented a highly colourful collection for Spring/Summer 2011 on Saturday. Taking inspiration from traditional Japanese Kabuki costumes and the aesthetic of Beijing Opera, the designer reinterpreted the prints that have featured throughout previous collections in a new bright summery palette, ranging from violent scarlet tones and pinks to more subtle greens and yellows. The signature silhouette for this season mixes flashy printed leggings and floaty tunic dresses or asymmetric rigid silk kimonos.
The collection was accessorised by quite impressive geisha-like shoes of white leather on thick black soles. But the most eye-catching accessories were without a doubt the sumptuous headgears with their delicate tiny golden crowns adorned by bright red pom poms and elegant long pheasant tailfeathers.
