The Art Of Fashion series of talks arranged by Elle UK has attracted some serious power players in the London Fashion Scene.
Kicking off on the 3rd of November with Canadian born boy wonder Erdem, who was only recently the inaugural recipient of the Vogue BFC Fashion Fund, earlier this year and showed to a stellar A-list fashion press at London Fashion Week in September.
Editor of Vogue UK and chairman of the Vogue BFC Fashion Fund, Alexandra Schulman stated :”I am very excited by the prospects that the Fund offers not only in terms of finance but in mentoring. In Erdem I feel we have a very worthy winner who already has an international reputation and who has the creativity and application that is needed to become a global business. He makes beautiful clothes that already have a recognisable stamp that is his alone.”
Elle UK has managed to secure an incredible stellar cast of designers to participate in the discussion of the art of fashion, lead by editor-in-chief Lorraine Candy.
Designer Giles Deacon, was appointed head of design of Ungaro, and British Designer Of The Year, in 2004. Central Saint Martins graduate, Marios Schwab won the Best New Designer Award in 2006 and the Swiss Textiles award in 2007. He was recently appointed head of design for Halston, and has enjoyed great success showing in London Fashion Week.
