Reminiscent of what could be found in a childhood treasure chest but beautifully enhanced by stunning grown up trinkets, Sonia Boyajian takes us to sea in a world of “Pirates and Sailors” for her
Spring/Summer 2013 collection.
Inspired by the casual yet extravagant nautical traditions throughout New England, graphic red, white and blue hand-painted sailor stripe motifs highlighted with glitzy Swarovksi crystals are prevalent throughout the collection featured in hand-made porcelain brooches, beads and earrings.

This season Sonia’s travels to Vermont bring her in contact with local artisans specializing in blown glass and pewter medallions. She incorporates these modern talismans using sailor knots and colorful Mokuba silk cords, creating sporty pendant necklaces.

From luxury yacht cruises off America’s East Coast to swashbuckling buccaneers in the Caribbeans, key elements of these contrasting maritime universes are masterfully balanced in a harmonious equilibrium of texture, color and light.
