Revealed Exclusively Online This season Yohji Yamamoto presents his AW21-22 collection exclusively online on the offical website yohjiyamamoto.co.jp and on the FHCM website. For their third video collaboration Yohji and Japanese photographer TAKAY show models in motion through a dark and punk atmosphere. A documentary of Yohji’s vision of today’s world. The 23 minutes video is a journey of 33 looks accompanied by Yohji’s own voice and songs. The AW21-22 collection unveils a 19th century inspiration in a dark punk Yohji’s spirit. Long and elegant fitted dresses, corsets, mixed with oversized deconstructed jackets and coats. Garments that volontary give the impression of being unfinished with white threads applied. Wires and chains jewelry embelish the silhouettes and announce a new Yohji Yamamoto accessory line coming soon. Models walking quietly in a dark , stormy and poetic atmosphere. Yohji-san expresses his vision of our contemporary world in his own romantic and punk way. Through the collection, Yohji is questioning himself about «the future».

Photographer Takay’s Profile: Takay is a Japanese photographer based in NYC whose photographs have been featured in fashion publications including Harper’s Bazaar , Vogue , L’Uomo Vogue , and I – D , as well as in global advertising campaigns . Takay’s artworks have been included in fashion exhibitions at major institutions around the world. His work has appeared in the Victoria & Albert Museum’s exhibition Men in Skirts which travelled to the Metropolitan Museum ( NY ) in 2003 , the Couture Chanel exhibition at the National Museum of China in Beijing and then in Shanghai in 2010 , The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier , From Sidewalk to the Catwalk touring from 2011-2016 to 12 cities around the world , and the Met’s Spring 2013 Costume Institute exhibition PUNK : Chaos to Couture . In 2016 Takay released his book ECHOS, with a book launch and exhibition at BookMarc Tokyo. In 2020 Takay released his newest book “Fluence-The continuance of Yohji Yamamoto” with a book launch and exhibition at Akio Nagasawa gallery in Tokyo. He also collaborated with Yohji Yamamoto by directing the Spring/Summer 2021 Homme Collection movie for the first fashion digital presentation of the house.
