Acne x Lanvin

The Acne X Lanvin collaboration continues for S/S 2010 with glamorous pieces of washed ultra luxe Japanese denims.
The Swedish labels minimalist yet distinct individual approach to denim blends beautifully with designer Alber Elbaz modern chic vision of the historic house of Lanvin for yet another season.
The S/S 2010 collection available in stores now includes a very modern take of the Chanel jacket , straight fitted, embellished with silver beads, covered by sheer fabric over a base of fabulous Japanese denim.
Elegant pencil skirts, with zipper details are hidden by discreet pleats.
Sensual one shouldered dresses, with ruched and draping details across the bust, a signature of sorts for the House of Lanvin are very cleverly re-interpreted for the summer of 2010.
It’s all in the details as a flower made of raw edged denim elegantly adorn the chest of a fabulous one shouldered number gathered at the waist.
Others standout numbers include a summery sleeveless dress, again in soft Japanese denim with a draped bow detail at the waist and pleats running across the bust and waist.
As far as denim goes, it’s a very mature collection, with contrasting elements that should not work, but somehow do.
A very carefully constructed collection that plays to the strengths of both brands, with impeccably chosen fabrics and finishes fit for a full fledged prett-a-porter rather than
the capsule collection it is meant to be.
Let’s just hope Lanvin continues to X Acne for at least a couple of seasons to come.
