LEXUS HYBRID ART – The Art of the Future Returns to Moscow

For the second year running, the uniquely creative experimentation of the audio-visual and multi-media format ‘Lexus Hybrid Art’ exhibition will open to the public in Moscow from 19th to 22nd May. Staged at the ‘Red October Chocolate Factory’ located in the heart of Russia’s capital, this futuristic exhibition concept has been initiated by Lexus to showcase the work of artists who create Lexus’ vision of tomorrow.
Through progressive thinking, innovation and sophisticated high technology, Lexus shares the vision of these artists; creating the future today. The most striking example of this approach is the company’s range of Lexus Hybrid Drive cars, which have revolutionised the premium automotive segment, introducing the technology of tomorrow to a new generation of ambitious, forward thinking and environmentally conscientious customers.
Seamlessly combining the power of a petrol engine and a high-torque electric motor, every Lexus full hybrid combines impressive performance with superior fuel economy and significantly reduced emissions.
Reflecting the pioneering spirit behind this extraordinary powertrain, ‘Lexus Hybrid Art’ provides the broadest possible canvas for creative experimentation by a group of artists striving for constant reinvention. Blurring the traditional boundaries between painting, sculpture, film, architecture, installation and performance art, the exhibition explores ways in which the latest discoveries and technologies enable us to change the reality of our perception, leading to a greater awareness of mankind’s impact on the future.
Developing their own language through the adoption of a multi-interdisciplinary approach, the artists fuse the disciplines and practices of literature, scientific research, industrial design, information technology, philosophy and pop culture to create another dimension of conceptual and visual
experience.
Showcasing a radical step in exhibition formats, last year’s inaugural ‘Lexus Hybrid Art’ exhibition saw leading lights from the world’s largest media art festivals gather in Moscow to initiate an ongoing dialogue about the art of the future and its emergence at the unprecedented intersection of science, culture and technology.
This May, the ‘Red October Chocolate Factory’ will host a new collaboration of highly talented artists from around the world, including Yao Chung-Han (Taiwan), Philip Beesley (Canada), Bolint Bolygo (UK), Ulf Langheinrich (Germany-Ghana), creative group Numen / For Use (Croatia -Austria), ScottPagano (USA), Aaron Koblin (NL) and Keiichiro Shibuya, Studio WOW, Masato Tsutsui (Japan).
Lectures, master classes and presentations of the artist’s works will be organised during the exhibition.
