Inacgraphy, Ziggy Chen’s SS22 collection

On the occasion of Paris Man Fashion Week SS 2022, Ziggy Chen presents INACGRAPHY.

This season the Ziggy Chen collection starts from a special word, cryptic and magical at first sight: Inacgraphy.

This tem, conceived by the designer, includes inaction and iconography and reveals a tribu to classical painting and the characters that populate it. Always attracted by the iconographic representation in ancient Chinese paintings, the designer focuses his attention on the figure, the main element, a subject that raises a series of questions in the observer: Who is he? What is he doing? Can we communicate? These men, very distant from our time, seem so unknown to us that we have only encountered them in our thoughts, idealized, almost divine.

The iconographic element has been isolated, reinterpreted, finally blurred, and placed in the center of the prints for the SS22. A playful and light tribute to these figures who live in a painted world. The focus of the collection is to arouse the pleasure of dressing. Jackets and outerwear are constantly evolving, the result of experiments in combining different fabrics, prints, and colors.

For the most part embellished with hidden details and prints, these are garments that will amaze those who wear them day by day. Some jackets have a small detachable bag in soft fabric, dusters and coats are reversible so as to enhance the uniqueness of each individual garment. The fabrics are extremely refined and natural, the Inacgraphy collection offers new experiments with weaves of cotton, linen, ramie, and viscose. The color palette is enriched with new shades of green and natural ocher accents. Inacgraphy is a collection with an optimistic and light attitude, which gives the wearer joy and ecstatic serenity. The same that is found in the figures of the paintings that, like idle spirits, populate the garments of this Ziggy Chen collection.

On June 25 at 10:30 am CEST, during Paris Fashion Week, INACGRAPHY the video was officially released
