Marimekko celebrates Helsinki Pride in June

To promote the discussion around equal rights actively, Marimekko is proud to be one of the platinum partners of the rainbow-colored culture and human rights event Helsinki Pride. 
 
Marimekko will once again issue some of Helsinki Pride’s official products: a rainbow-colored edition of the company’s classic Tasaraita (even stripe) t-shirt as well as a scarf and socks in the same hues* will be available worldwide in June 2021.  
The Tasaraita print was born in 1968 when Marimekko designer Annika Rimala wanted to create a collection of cotton jersey clothes suitable for everyone irrespective of age, size or gender expression. Still today, this stripy classic is Marimekko’s symbol of equality.
 
The traditional Pride parade is organized virtually this summer and will spread all over Finland.
The parade opened with Pride Week starting on June 28th.
